edNewcastle United have revealed that global pop superstar Ed Sheeran is to play St James’ Park next year as part of his new stadium tour. The ‘Castle on the Hill’ singer is set to embark on a huge European jaunt as well as stopping in the UK for six dates, which includes Manchester, London, Belfast, Glasgow and Cardiff before arriving in the North East on June 8th for a date with the passionate Geordie crowd.

The star most recently performed two sell out nights at the Metro Radio Arena and despite battling a bout of man flu, the one man and his guitar battled on through the shows and talked about his love for the North and described his shows as “more nuts every time he performs here”.

Tickets for the show go on sale at 10am on Saturday 8thJuly and can be purchased through www.edsheeran.com. Prices range from £45 – £80 depending on the type of puchase, seating or standing
